Why your golf swing is not the most important part of your golf game

I bought some stuff from you a while back and have been playing auto golf since (mostly anyway!)

This has been a like a great light dawning. A game that had
been hidden under a heavy layer of fear is gradually emerging into the daylight.

I hit a shot in my last round that I have never hit before in 30 years of golf (I'm 50).

Each time I play now I feel my body adjusting itself, tuning itself as it automatically figures out what I'm doing wrong and corrects it slowly but surely.

I've become an interested observer of my own golf rounds instead of embroiled in them. Its very peaceful. Playing 9 holes has become a 2 hour meditation from which I walk off feeling refreshed and relaxed regardless of the
score - instead of always frustrated, tired and unfulfilled.

Instead of my main thought being "there's always next week" as I head to the car park its "I enjoyed that" - even when the score wasn't too flash.

The difference is I feel my body has learned something each time I come off even though I haven't consciously thought about what it is. Its quite extraordinary to see how the body does this and fine tunes without any conscious input from me.

All this has suddenly thrown the conventional way of teaching into sharp relief as being totally the wrong way to go as you are constantly saying. Once the light dawns
you actually start to feel angry with golf teaching because you realize how much damage it is doing and setting you back rather than taking you anywhere worthwhile.

So I just wanted to say thank-you. I've never known golf like this and I've never enjoyed golf like this. Its become the wonderful, peaceful, relaxing, INSTRUCTIVE game that it should be for all of us.

And it all started for me with the insights I picked up from your website.
